Frequently Asked Questions

APT .RED is an enterprise-level physical security consulting and integration firm. We specialize in designing, deploying, and supporting integrated security systems—including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and remote monitoring—for organizations where reliability and security are mission-critical.

We serve clients nationally from offices in South San Francisco (CA), Colorado Springs (CO), Seattle (WA), and Sioux Falls (SD). Our NeoLert remote support platform extends our service capabilities to client sites anywhere in the country.

No. Despite our name, APT .RED specializes in physical security integration—access control hardware and software, video surveillance systems, intrusion detection, and managed support services. We are not a cybersecurity red team or penetration testing firm. However, our approach to physical security infrastructure incorporates rigorous cybersecurity practices including zero-trust architecture, encrypted communications, and hardened system configurations.

Our primary vendor partnerships are with Software House (C•CURE 9000 and C•CURE IQ for access control), Milestone Systems (XProtect VMS for video management), and Bosch Security Systems (video surveillance, intrusion detection, and access control). We also work with AMAG, Kantech, Genetec, and other platforms based on client requirements.

Yes. Integration between access control and video management is one of our core capabilities. We routinely integrate Software House C•CURE 9000 with Milestone XProtect, Bosch BVMS, and other VMS platforms to provide unified security operations—where access events automatically trigger video recording, camera presets, and alarm correlation.

Commissioning is the systematic process of verifying that a newly installed or upgraded security system performs according to design specifications. This includes functional testing of every component, verification of programming and workflows, integration testing between systems, network performance validation, and documentation of as-built conditions. APT .RED offers both onsite and remote commissioning services.

Project timelines vary significantly based on scope. A single-building access control deployment might take 4–6 weeks from design to commissioning, while a multi-site enterprise integration can span several months. We provide detailed project timelines during the proposal phase and communicate progress continuously throughout the engagement.

NeoLert is APT .RED’s proprietary support services platform that provides proactive remote monitoring, remote configuration and management, daily offsite backups, remote training, and server management for enterprise security infrastructure. It’s delivered as a secure, service-backed support model—not a standalone software product.

NeoLert operates within a hardened, zero-trust architecture that includes IP allow-listing, mutual TLS authentication with unique certificates per machine, Microsoft Entra identity management, mandatory multi-factor authentication via MS Authenticator, and a controlled application stack with no unnecessary exposure. We apply the same security standards to our support infrastructure that we recommend for our clients.

Yes. NeoLert Support Services include emergency onsite response for critical system failures. Our remote monitoring often identifies issues before clients are aware of them, enabling proactive resolution. For issues requiring physical intervention, our technicians are dispatched with system-specific knowledge and the parts most likely needed for your configuration.

NeoLert’s extended labor warranty provides coverage beyond standard manufacturer warranties, including expert failure diagnosis, repair by technicians familiar with your specific system, and complete service documentation with asset lifecycle tracking.
